Starting school is a very exciting time! Starting school is a daunting thing when you’re 4 years old (and some children might still only be 3!) We are committed to making the process as smooth and stress-free as possible. We will be offering some visits and meetings to help you and your child prepare for starting school this September NEW RECEPTION PARENT INFORMATION MEETING This meeting is designed for parents (not children) and will last just over an hour. This will be held on Tuesday 28th June at 5pm in the school hall. Please arrive via the gate on Derbyshire Lane. You will be given a pack at the meeting which contains lots of information and forms which we require before your child can start school. Following the meeting parents will be shown the Foundation Unit although this is not yet set up as it will be in September. PARENT-TEACHER CONSULTATION SESSIONS We feel that it is as important to get to know you as well as your child. We would like to invite you to meet Mrs Dyball, your child’s new teacher if you wish. We will run one session which is in-person and another on zoom so parents can choose whichever suits them best. This is an opportunity for you to tell us about your child and/or ask any questions specific to you. Each session will last approximately 10 minutes. If possible, it would be lovely to meet your child at this session. These will be held on the morning of Thursday 30th June (in-person) or the afternoon of Monday 4th July (via zoom). Please call the school office to make an appointment for either of these. TASTER SESSIONS We are offering a taster session where your child will have the opportunity to spend the morning or afternoon in their new class with fourteen other children who will also be starting in September. These sessions will be on:
Please call the school office or email ([email protected]) to let us know which events you wish to attend. Attendance at all is not mandatory - We appreciate you are busy people! We have also sent you our data collection form. This will be included in the paper pack but many of you may prefer to complete this electronically and return to the office. We must receive this form before your child can start school in September. Click on the buttons below. These policies give you all the information you need to guide you through the application process. If you need any help, do not hesitate to get in touch with the school office and we will be happy to help! |
