Bike More, Scooter More, Move More!
Our children are always keen to bet on their bikes and scooters and this time it was the turn of Year 2 who took part in some balance and scootering activities.
In addition to the sessions, we are proud to be working with Micro Scooters who have donated 3 wheeled scooters and scooter helmets for our children to use. The company also run a ScooterAid scheme whereby they revamp old/unwanted Micro Scooters and send them to good causes across the country – giving thousands of children who may otherwise miss out the chance to play. If you have a scooter you would like to donate the scheme please get in touch with Micro Scooters.

Remembrance Art
Beat The Street
Well done to all the families that got active during the summer term to take part in the Beat the Street Challenge.
You did a fantastic job and as a result our school came second in our area! As such we have won £100 in vouchers! Our choice was between Waterstones or Decathlon vouchers. In true democratic fashion, we put it to the vote. The results were 113 votes for Decathlon and 53 votes for Waterstones. The next job will be to figure out what sports equipment to spend our precious £100 on! |
The Lost Words Project
All of the children have been taking part in a whole-school art and language project this week.
All over the country, words are disappearing from children's lives. These are the words of the natural world -- Dandelion, Otter, Bramble and Acorn, all gone. The rich landscape of wild imagination and wild play is rapidly fading from our children's minds. The Lost Words contains some of these words and is beautifully illustrated. We are using this book to inspire children to engage with language and nature and all children are creating their own calligrams. A calligram is a poem (or collection of words) in the shape of the subject. |
